Rat Systematics

Systematics is a field of biology that deals with the diversity of organisms and the relationships between them. Systematics is usually divided into two subfields: taxonomy and phylogenetics. Taxonomy is concerned with the naming of names, and phylogenetics deals with the evolutionary and genetic relationships between taxa.

The articles below all deal with the Norway rat as a species: the Norway rat's evolutionary and recent history, its classification, and how it is related to other species.
